OSCAR-AI HealthTech Edition
Integrating Smart Sensors and Bioinformatics for Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Applications
Berlin – Rostock | 15–24 January 2026
The OSCAR-AI HealthTech Edition is a specialized international program designed to introduce students to the advanced applications of artificial intelligence, smart sensor systems, and bioinformatics in modern pharmaceutical and biotechnological research. This program is offered in collaboration with the University of Rostock and the Rostock Medical School.
Program Overview
This workshop provides participants with hands-on exposure to real-world biomedical challenges and cutting-edge research methods. Students will engage with topics such as:
Diagnostic behavior analysis for cancer detection using smart sensing technologies
Integration of neuro-sensing implants to acquire brain signals for prosthetic systems
Lab-on-a-chip technologies for biomedical screening, including DNA sequencing and molecular analysis
AI-driven data processing for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and disease profiling
The program combines scientific sessions, practical training, and collaborative research activities with faculty and researchers from the University of Rostock.
Pre-Departure Preparation
Before traveling, all selected students will undergo a structured preparation phase at the university.
This includes:
Practical sessions on smart sensors, microelectronics, and bioinformatics workflows
Training on laboratory equipment and measurement techniques relevant to the program
Technical orientation to help students fully benefit from the workshops in Berlin and Rostock
Introductory modules on AI tools and biomedical data analysis
These sessions ensure that each participant arrives in Germany with the necessary background knowledge and technical skills to maximize their learning outcomes.
Cultural and Academic Activities in Germany
During the workshop, students will participate in a range of academic and cultural activities, including:
Laboratory sessions and seminars at the University of Rostock and the Medical School
Visits to research facilities and innovation centers in Berlin
Excursions to Rostock, Warnemünde Beach, and key scientific and historical landmarks
Group activities and social events designed to encourage international collaboration
